After Geminiani is based on 3 composition by Francesco Geminiani from his work The art of playing on the violin (numbers VII, VIII and V) but should not be regarded as a transcription or arrangement. The material is entirely rewritten and only the style (Italian baroque) is left untouched. The first performance (1986) was given in the Willibrordus church in Waalre (in the south of The Netherlands) by the chamber orchestra Ars Antiqua et Nova with Hans Thoman conducting. My father was one of the viola players. In 2007 I made some revisions in the score and the current recording is by the Benmar Chamber Orchestra.
