incipit

“Vier-mains” is the French expression quatre-mains (literally four hands and meaning of course piano duet) with the quatre translated into Dutch. This way it contains the first name of Erma van den Berg who received this music as a present for her birthday in the year 2000. The first part is simple in many ways: parallel octaves, with a one finger - one note principle and on white keys only. Rhythmically this part is slightly more demanding (challenging for the optimists), but certainly well playable. This is one of my personal favourites.
