incipit

I composed Hooray in the year 2004 on the occasion of (as the title suggests) the 11th birthday of Romi Mol, my neighbour’s girl. Shortly thereafter Romi gave a beautiful first performance (with all the necessary contrasts in forte and piano and the right ritenuto’s) with her piano teacher Jeanet Stratingh. The first part is based on a one finger - one note principle (on white keys only) and with the hands moving parallel in octaves. Easy.
