In the rain of birthday presents this one was for Willemijn van Welzen in the year 1982, although then in a more primitive version: I made this slightly more elaborate B version 6 years later. The model for the Andantino, the Andante from the 5 easy pieces by Stravinsky, is easily recognised in the main theme. Rhythmic shifting in this melody (a quarter early in measures 13-14 and a quarter late in measures 33-34) is what this piece is about (in all modesty). So many years later I have not forgotten the A version and an instrumentation for chamber orchestra is in preparation.
