De Amerikaanse tango
 
 
 
The very first attempts at playing jazz music I made together with my school friend, saxophone player Alexander Blom. When Alexander was leaving for the U.S.A. in 1980 I wrote the first version of the American tango (for piano solo) as a farewell gift for him. Three more versions (for piano duet) have followed since. The American tango can be regarded as a theme (in c minor) with one variation (in e minor) and a recapitulation of the theme (again in c minor).
